    For quick, cheap jelly, mix one packet of unsweetened Kool-Aid (any flavor), 3 cups water, 3 cups sugar and one package powdered Sure-Jell (or generic pectin). Bring to a rolling boil and boil for 2 minutes. Skim off foam. Pour into sterilized canning jars. Apply canning lid and band (finger tight). Turn upside down for 10 minutes then turn upright again. It takes about eight hours to fully set, but it is tasty. Makes six 8-ounce jars of jelly. Cost per jar is about 35 cents when items are purchased on sale.
