Cheesy Bacon and Ham Casserole

1/2 pound bacon
1/2 pound cooked ham -- chopped
3/4 cup quick-cooking grits -- uncooked
16 ounces Velveeta -- cubed
1/4 cup margarine
6 large eggs -- beaten
1/2 cup milk
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon pepper
Recipe
Cook bacon in a large skillet until crisp; remove bacon and drain on
paper
towels. Reserve 1 tablespoon of drippings in skillet. Crumble bacon.
Cook ham in reserved dripping in skillet over medium heat until
browned.
Cook grits according to package directions. Remove from heat; stir in
cheese
and 1/4 cup butter until melted. Stir in bacon, ham, eggs, 1/2 cup
milk,
baking powder and pepper. Pour into a lightly greased 9 x 13-inch
baking
pan. Bake at 350 degrees F for 45 minutes or until set.
To Make Ahead: Cover and chill before baking. Let stand at room
temperature
30 minutes before baking as directed.
