    1 pkg. egg noodles (5 oz)
    1/2 cup green onion, chopped, divided
    2 T. butter
    1 1/2 pounds ground beef
    2 cans tomato sauce (8 oz each)
    1 t. salt
    1/8 t. pepper
    1 cup small curd cottage cheese
    8 oz. sour cream
    3/4 cup shredded sharp cheese

    Cook noodles, rinse and set aside. Sauté 1/4 cup onion in butter in
    skillet
    until tender. Add beef and cook until browned. Drain. Add tomato sauce,
    salt
    and pepper, stir and simmer 20 minutes. Combine cottage cheese, sour
    cream
    and remaining green onion. Stir and set aside. Place noodles in a
    greased 2
    1/2 quart casserole dish. Spoon cottage cheese mixture over noodles,
    spoon
    meat mixture next and sprinkle with cheese. Bake at 350 for 25 minutes.
