3 cups Carnation instant dry milk
1 cup cornstarch
1/2 cup instant chicken bouillon granules
2 TB dry onion flakes
1/2 tsp. ground black pepper
1 tsp. dried basil
1 tsp. dried thyme
Recipe
Combine dry milk, cornstarch, bouillon, onion flakes, pepper, basil and
thyme. Mix thoroughly and store in an airtight container.
Makes 1 quart dry mix. The equivalent of nine 10 oz. cans of condensed
soup.
Variations:
For cream of chicken soup, add diced cooked chicken.
For tomato soup, add tomato juice instead of water.
To substitute for 1 can of soup, combine 1/3 cup dry mix with 1-1/4
cups
water in saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until
thickened.
Use this way as a sauce in a casserole.
To use as soup, add 1-1/4 cups more water to soup consistency.
