MIX
5 1/3 cups flour
1 tablespoon salt
2 1/3 cups vegetable shortening
Sift flour and salt together into a mixing bowl. Cut in half the
shortening with a pastry blender until mixture looks like coarse meal.
Cut in the remaining shortening until the mixture looks like small
peas. Store at room temperature in a tightly sealed jar which has
sealed and labeled.

Pie Crust from Mix
1 1/3 cups Pie Crust Mix
1 tablespoon ice water
Lightly spoon mix into a bowl. Add 1 tablespoon of the ice cold water
and toss quickly with a fork. Repeat the procedure with the remaining
ice water until dough is moist but not sticky. Form the dough into a
ball and chill 1 hour.
Flatten the dough ball on a lightly floured surface. Roll out and use
in your favorite pie recipe.
To make a double crust: Use 2 1/4 cups mix and 4 to 6 tablespoons ice
cold water. Follow the procedure above.
