6 pork chops
Shortening
6 to 8 cups sliced potatoes
1 cup baby carrots, optional
2 cans cream of mushroom soup
1 soup can milk
1/4 cup chopped onion
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/4 tsp. celery seed
Grated cheddar cheese
Recipe
Brown chops in shortening on both sides in 14-inch Dutch oven.
Remove from oven and drain on paper towels.
Place peeled, sliced potatoes and carrots in bottom of the Dutch oven.
Mix remaining ingredients except cheese.
Pour this mixture over potatoes and carrots.
Place pork chops on top; sprinkle liberally with cheese.
Bake in an oven at 350° F, if camping, by placing 9-11 coals on bottom
and
17-18 on top for 1 1/2 hours or until potatoes are done.
