Swedish Hamburgers

List of Ingredients
1/3 cup fine dry breadcrumbs
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/2 cup water
1 1/2 cups cream or evaporated milk
1 pound lean ground pork
1 egg
2 tablespoons chopped parsley
1/4 cup (1/2-stick) margarine
3 cups sliced onions (3-medium onions)
1 tablespoon flour
Recipe
Combine breadcrumbs, salt, paprika, and pepper. Stir in water
and 1/2-cup cream or evaporated milk. Let stand 10 minutes. Mix
in ground pork, egg and parsley. Shape into 8 round flat
patties.
Melt margarine in skillet. Fry patties about 4 to 5 minutes on
each side at medium heat. Place on warm serving platter and keep
warm.
Sauté onions in margarine and drippings remaining in skillet.
When onions are tender, sprinkle with flour. Stir in remaining
cream or evaporated milk. Cook mixture a few minutes longer
until thickened, stirring constantly. Spoon sauce over meat
patties. Serve hot.
Makes 4 servings.
