    4 large white Bermuda or Vidalia onions
    salt and pepper
    paprika
    4 tablespoons butter
    1/4 cup flour
    4 cups heavy cream -- (4 to 6)
    1 cup prepackaged stuffing crumbs

    Recipe



    Peel and thinly slice onions. In a 2&1/2 quart deep casserole, layer
    onions,
    seasoning each layer with salt, pepper and paprika; dot each layer with
    butter and sprinkle with flour. Pour heavy cream over casserole until
    it
    comes to 1/2" from top and covers the top layer completely. Cover and
    bake
    for 4-5 hours. (No, this isn't a typo.) Half and hour before serving,
    remove
    cover, pour stuffing evenly over top layer, and bake 30 minutes more.
    Serve
    at once. Temperature, 325 degrees, Time: 4-5 hours. Serves 6-8
