    4 slices slab bacon
    1/4 cup finely chopped onion
    1 small jalapeno, seeded, finely minced
    1/2 cup vinegar
    3 T. light brown sugar
    2 T. molasses
    2 pounds fresh cut green beans, trimmed, diagonally sliced
    2 t. prepared horseradish
    1 t. salt
    1/8 t. coarse ground black pepper
    1/8 t. cayenne

    Recipe



    Fry the bacon in a skillet until crisp. Drain, reserving 2 T of the
    drippings. Crumble the bacon, discarding the rind or save it to chew
    on. Saute the
    onion and jalapeno in the reserved bacon drippings just until the onion
    is tender.
    Stir in the vinegar, brown sugar and molasses. Add the green beans,
    horseradish, salt, black, pepper and cayenne. Bring to a simmer.
    Simmer, covered for 15
    minutes, stirring occasionally. Add the bacon. Cook, covered for 5
    minutes
    longer. Makes 4 to 6 servings
