    Source of Recipe

    Local Newspaper

    List of Ingredients

    2-1/2 cups flour
    1-1/2 tsp. sugar
    1 tsp. salt
1 stick chilled unsalted butter (cut into 1/2" slices)
    1/2 cup chilled crisco (cubed)
    5-6 Tblsp. ice water

    Recipe

Blend flour, sugar and salt in a bowl. Add butter and shortening and blend with pastry blender until it resembles coarse meal.

Add 5 Tblsp ice water and mix with fork until dough starts to come together. Add more water if needed.

Gather dough together and divide in half. Wrap each half in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 1 hour.

Can be refrigerated for 3 days, or frozen until needed. (Defrost in refrigerator).

Put each half in a 9" pie plate, prick with fork and bake at 400 degrees for 10 minutes or until lightly browned.
