    Crust:

    1 box vanilla wafers (set aside 20 for filling)
    1/2 cup butter

    Crush wafers and mix with melted butter. Firmly press on bottom and up sides of a 9 inch pie plate. Bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes. Remove and let cool.

    Pudding:

    3/4 cups sugar
    1/3 cup flour
    2 large eggs
    4 egg yolks
    2 cups milk
    2 tsp. vanilla

    Wisk first 5 ingredients to pudding and cook over a medium heat, wisking constantly, until it gets thick (8-10 min.). Remove from heat and stir in vanilla.

    Slice 2 bananas and lay on the bottom of the cooled crust. Spread 1/2 pudding over bananas and top with 20 vanilla wafers. Pour remaining pudding over wafers.

    Meringue:

    Beat 4 egg whites until foamy. Add 1/2 cup sugar 1 tblsp. at a time. Spread over the pie and bake at 350 degrees for 10 min.

    Chill before serving.
