    Gooey Butter Cake

    Recipe Introduction

    Not only is the original version of this recipe delicious, but there are many nice variations to give you a variety of flavors. This is a VERY rich dessert, and a little goes a long way.

    List of Ingredients

    CRUST:
    1 yellow cake mix
    1 egg
    1 stick butter (softened)

    FILLING:
    8 oz. cream cheese
    3 eggs
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 stick butter (melted)
    1 box powdered sugar

    Recipe

    Mix the cake mix, 1 egg and 1 stick of butter. Pat into a greased 9 x 13 pan.

    Combine the rest of the ingredients and pour over crust. Bake 40-50 minutes in a 350 degrees preheated oven.


    Variations:

    Pumpkin: For the crust, substitute spice cake, then add 1 can pumpkin, 1 tsp. cinnamon, 1 tsp. nutmeg and 1 extra egg to the filling.

    Pineapple: add 1 20 oz. can drained pineapple and 1 extra egg to filling

    Banana: add 2 ripe bananas (mashed)and 1 extra egg to filling

    Peanut butter: add 1 cup peanut butter and 1 extra egg to filling

    Lemon: For crust, substitute lemon cake mix, and add 1/4 cup lemon juice to filling.

    Carrot Cake: For crust, substitute spice cake mix; then add 1 cup chopped nuts and 1-1/2 cup finely grated carrots to filling.

    Chocolate Chip: For crust, substitute chocolate cake mix; then and add 1 cup chocolate chips to filling.
