Old-Fashioned Butter Cake

1 pound butter
3 cups sugar
6 extra large eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
3 cups flour
1 cup canned evaporated milkRecipe
Cream butter and sugar with a mixer. Beat until light and fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla. Beat 2 to 3 minutes.
Gradually add flour and evaporated milk.
Beat by hand for another couple of minutes until the batter is smooth.
Spray a bundt pan with nonstick cooking spray. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour. Check for doneness (should spring back with touched). It may need additional baking time depending on your oven.
When it's done, remove from oven and allow to cool for 5 minutes.
Invert onto a serving plate. Serve with warm butter sauce.
Butter Sauce:
2/3 cups sugar
2 tblsp. cornstarch
1 cups water
7 tblsp. butter
1 tsp. vanilla
