Recipe Introduction
This is another Christmas favorite at my house.
List of Ingredients
3 sticks butter (not margerine)
1-1/2 cups brown sugar
1 cup finely ground pecans or almonds
1 bag milk chocolate chips
Recipe
Line a 9 x 13 pan with foil.
In a heavy saucepan, bring brown sugar and butter to a boil on medium heat until it reaches 290 degrees (you will need a candy thermometer for this). Be sure to STIR CONSTANTLY!! This mixture can burn if you don't stir it,... it can also burn if you get your burner too hot.
Once it reaches 290 degrees on the candy thermometer, pour on top of foil. Spread to the edges of the pan, then immediately pour chocolate chips and allow to stand for a minute or two until soft, then spread evenly. Top with nuts. Let cool thoroughly, then using a knife as a chisel, break up into bite-size pieces.
