    Pot Roast for Crockpot

    Recipe Introduction

This recipe can be done various different ways, .... you really can't mess it up!

    List of Ingredients

1 roast (chuck, rump, eye of round,...)
2 or 3 of ANY of the following "extras":

    Extras:

    beef broth
    beef consomme'
Heinz beef gravy or Brown Gravy Mix (dry powder packet*)
    Cream of Mushroom Soup

My personal favorite is 1 can beef broth, 1 can beef consomme' and 2 Brown Gravy packets.

    * If you're using the dry gravy packet, you might want to mix it with one of the liquids before adding it to the crockpot.

    Recipe

Season your roast with salt, pepper, seasoned salt, garlic powder,... whatever you like (or if you're like me,.. just use ALL of them!)

Place roast in crockpot and add your "extras".

Turn on low and cook 4 hours. Then add vegetables (potatoes, carrots, onions, whatever you like).

Cook another 4 hours. Entire cooking time should be about 8 hours (could be a little more depending on the size/thickness of your roast).

When done, remove vegetables and roast from crockpot. If you like your gravy thicker than what's in the crockpot, transfer to a heavy saucepan and thicken with flour and water. (add about 2 Tblsp. of flour to about 1/2 cup water and shake vigorously.) Wisk into the broth and heat on medium heat until thickened.
