Broccoli Cauliflower Casserole

My sister-in-law tried this recipe on us when we were visiting in London, and the whole crew gave it a "thumbs up"! Very tasty!!
List of Ingredients
1 16-oz. pkg. frozen broccoli cuts
1 16-oz. pkg. frozen cauliflower florets
1 cup chopped onion
2 Tblsp. butter
2 Tblsp. flour
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1/2 tsp. dried basil, crushed
1/4 tsp. pepper
1-1/4 cup milk
2 3-oz. pkgs. cream cheese w/chives
3/4 cup bread crumbs
3 Tblsp. grated parmesan cheese
2 Tblsp. butter, meltedRecipe
Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Cook broccoli and cauliflower according to pkg. directions. Drain well. Place in a large saucepan and set aside.
In a medium saucepan, cook onion in butter until tender but not brown. Stir in flour, salt, garlic powder, basil, pepper and milk. Cook and stir until bubbly. Add cream cheese and stir until it melts. Stir into vegetable mixture and transfer to an ungreased 2 qt. casserole.
In a small bowl, toss the bread crumbs, parmesan cheese and butter and sprinkle over top of vegetables. Bake uncovered for 25-30 minutes.
