    1/3 cup butter, softened (no substitutes)
    4 cups confectioners sugar
    1/4 tsp salt
    2 to 3 tbls milk (whole milk works best, dont use skim)
    1 tsp vanilla

    Recipe



    In a large bowl, cream butter with electric hand mixer. Add remaining ingredients and beat until the frosting is smooth and spreadable.

    For chocolate buttercream frosting, add in 1/3 cup of unsweetened cocoa.
