    List of Ingredients




    4 cups flour
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
    1/4 teaspon nutmeg
    2 tablespoon shortening
    1 package yeast
    1 cup lukewarm milk
    3/4 cup sugar
    1 egg, beaten
    1-1/4 cup raisins
    1/2 cup candied fruit
    1 tablespoon sugar
    2 tablespoons boiling water









    Recipe



    Mix dry ingredients, cut in shortening.
    Dissolve yeast in milk with 1/4 cup sugar.
    Stir other 1/2 cup sugar into flour mixture.
    Blend egg into yeast mixture, add to flour mixture.
    Mix in raisins and fruit.
    Cover and raise till double-1-1-1/2 hours.
    Shape in 2 round loaves and put in grease 8" round pans.
    Cover and raise 30 minutes.
    Bake at 375 for 1 hour.
    Glaze top with sugar and boiling water.
