     3 1/2 pounds Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
     1/2 cup packed brown sugar
     1 1/2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
     1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

    Recipe



    1. In a 3 1/2-quart electric slow cooker, toss together the apples, brown sugar, and lemon juice.
    2. Cover and cook on the high heat setting 3 hours, or until the apples are very tender. Mash the apples with a potato masher. Stir in the cinnamon. Serve warm, at room temperature, or cold. For a special treat, serve the warm applesauce over vanilla ice cream and drizzle jarred caramel sauce on top.
