Lexi's Steak and Gravy
Takes how long to make: About 3 1/2 hours, Serves 4
List of Ingredients
4 to 5 steaks, any cut from tough to tender
Salt and pepper to taste
Garlic powder, or any other seasonings you prefer
1 large onion, chopped
1 small jar mushroom slices
Recipe
Season meat with spices, rubbing them into the meat with fingers.
Let seasoned meat sit for a few minutes, then place meat in a large skillet with tight-fitting lid.
Fry meat on both sides quickly. Turn heat down to almost off, just barely on.
Now...add chopped onions and mushroom slices. Turn steaks to coat with gravy on both sides. Put lid on skillet and let sit for 3 hours, just turning occasionally so meat won't stick to skillet.
You must make mashed potatoes with this meat dish, as the gravy is really good.
At the end of the 3 hours, serve with fluffy potatoes, buttered corn and a combination salad.
