This is baked in two layers (rolled) in a tube pan instead of the usual loaf shape. It is by far the best I have ever tasted!
List of Ingredients
DOUGH: 1 cup oleo 1/2 cup milk
1/4 cup warm water 2 pkg. yeast
2 1/2 cups flour 1/4 tsp. salt
1 Tbsp. sugar 3 egg yolks
Dough will be sticky; refrigerate overnight.
FILLING:
A: 1 cup ground nuts
1/4 cup milk, (2/3 cup if using dried date)
3 Tbsp. sugar 2 cups chopped dates
1 cup sugar
B: 3 egg whites, stiffly beaten
Recipe
Combine "A" to a paste; fold egg whites into paste.
Roll dough into 2-20" squares.
Spread with paste; roll up and place in 10" tube pan.
Repeat with the second roll, making a "2-layer " loaf.
Bake at 350 for 1 hour 5 minutes.
Wonderful with butter.
