Transported Texan High Altitude Recipes

Family Recipes and Some I Created Myself

These recipes are adjusted for altitudes above 8,000 feet. When I moved here to the mountains of Colorado from practically below sealevel Houston, Texas, I found that most of my baking recipes would not work. After 5 years of experimentation, I finally came up with the proper adjustments!
If you live below 8,000 feet (most people do!) You will need to double the amount of baking powder/soda, increase the sugar by 1/4 cup and decrease the flour and liquids by 1/4 cup.
I hope you enjoy the cooking!
By the way, I'm not very consistent in my recipes, but, for those who don't know, C means cup, t means teaspoon and T means tablespoon.
