Grandma Kayser's Cinnamon Rolls
List of Ingredients
1 C milk, scalded
1 C water, cold
1 T sugar
2 pckgs. yeast
6 T butter
1/2 C sugar
3 eggs
7 C flour
Filling Ingredients
1 stick butter, melted
brown sugar
cinnamon
Icing Ingredients
2 C powdered sugar
1 t vanilla
enough milk to make thin glazeRecipe
Mix milk, water and sugar. Add yeast and set aside til foamy. Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs and mix well. Stir in milk mixture and 4 cups flour, alternating wet and dry ingredients. Add remaining flour until you have a soft dough. Knead with dough hook or by hand til smooth. Place in greased bowl and let rise until doubled. Punch down dough and divide in half. Roll each half out into a large rectangle. Brush with melted butter and sprinkle with brown sugar and a generous amount of cinnamon. Roll up into a long roll. Slice into 12 rolls per half and place in greased pan. Let rise until desired size. (I let mine get really big) Bake at 375 until light brown. Drizzle with icing while hot.
This is another of my husband's grandmother's recipes. I make them for the silent auction at church. I have gotten 15 bucks a dozen for them!
