    Hocus Pocus Buns

    List of Ingredients




    1 pckg. yeast
    1/4 C warm water
    3/4 C milk, warmed
    3/4 C sugar
    1 t salt
    1 egg
    1/4 C shortening
    3 1/2 C flour
    1 pckg. large marshmallows
    1 stick margarine, melted
    2 T cinnamon

    Recipe



    Dissolve yeast in water. Cream together shortening and 1/4 C sugar. Add egg and mix well. Mix flour and salt and stir into batter, alternating with milk. Add more flour if necessary. It should form a soft dough. Knead until smooth. Let rise until doubled. While dough is rising, mix margarine, cinnamon and 1/2 C sugar. Set aside. When dough has risen, punch down and roll out 1/4 inch thick. Cut into circles with large biscuit cutter. Top each with a marshmallow dipped into cinnamon sugar mixture. Pinch edges together, stretching if necessary. Place buns in muffin cups, pinched edge down. Let rise til doubled. Bake at 375 for 25 minutes or until light golden brown. The marshmallows will melt, leaving a nice, sticky bun with a gooey center.
