Aunt Gene's Apple Cake

List of Ingredients

1 1/2 cups oil
4 eggs
3 1/4 cups flour
1 cup pecans, chopped
1 3/4 cups sugar
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
3 cups apples, coarsely chopped
2 tsp. vanilla


Topping Ingredients:

1 stick butter or margarine
1 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup milk
1 T vanilla


Recipe

Mix eggs, oil, sugar and vanilla. Sift flour and soda together and blend with egg mixture. Stir in apples and nuts. Bake in greased rectangular pan at 350 for 40 minutes or til cake tests done.

When cake is cool, mix first 3 topping ingredients in saucepan and heat to boiling. Let cool and vanilla. Spread topping on cake.
