Dutch Magic Torte
List of Ingredients
9" unbaked pie shell
1/4 C melted butter
1 1/4 C sugar
1 egg
1/2 t vanilla
1 1/4 C flour
3/4 t baking powder
3/4 C milk
1/4 C cocoa
6 T water
Recipe
Beat together butter, 3/4 C sugar, egg and vanilla. Add flour, baking powder, and milk and mix well. Pour into crust. Whisk together 1/2 C sugar, cocoa and water. Pour over batter. Bake at 350 for 35-40 minutes or until center of torte is firm. Serve topped with cool whip or ice cream.
My husband found this recipe somewhere when we were in college, back in the Dark Ages.
