    Mom's Meatloaf

    List of Ingredients




    2 lbs. ground beef
    2 slices dry bread, crumbled
    1 egg
    1/2 stalk celery, finely chopped
    1/4 medium onion, finely chopped
    1/4 C ketchup
    salt and pepper to taste
    enough milk to moisten

    Recipe



    Mix all ingredients. Form into 2 loaves. Place in dutch oven. Cook on stove top on medium heat for about 15 minutes to get the loaves hot all the way through. Cook for about 2 hours on low heat until all the moisture is cooked out and it no longer boils. The loaves will cling to the bottom of the pan.

    This was my mother-in-law's recipe. It makes unusual, very finely textured meat loaves.
