1. Cut squash in half, turn upside down in a pan with just a little water and bake until tender or almost tender.
2. Remove from oven turn right side up and put a generous spoon or cube of butter and your maple syrup in there, kind of swirl it around and put back in the oven till it kind of bubbles and is really good and melted and you are sure the squash is done-
3. Remove and let set just a few min for the butter & syrup to soak in a little, sometimes I prick the squash a little for the juices to go in.
4. You can add cinnamon or ginger if you like.
