    Cheddar Popovers

    Description
    These popovers are the perfect accompianment to many dishes including stews, chicken pot pie and chowders. You will enjoy mopping up gravies and soups with these mouthwatering popovers. They're also great served on their own with melted butter!
    Ingredients


    3 tablespoons butter, melted
    1 1/2 cups of whole milk
    1 1/2 tablespoons corn oil
    3 large eggs
    1 1/2 cups sifted unbleached flour
    1 teaspoon salt
    3 tablespoons grated extra-sharp cheddar cheese

    Instructions
    1. Pre-heat oven to 400 degrees. Using a pastry brush, generously coat the inside of a large popover pan with the melted butter. Make sure to butter the rim around each popover as well.

    2. Pour the milk into a mixing bowl. Add the corn oil mixing at a slow to medium speed. Add the eggs one at a time. (Allow the milk and eggs to reach room temperature prior to mxing as this will allow the popovers to rise higher).

    3. In a seperate bowl hand mix the flour, salt and grated cheese. Slowly add the flour mixture to the milk mixture. Make sure all ingredients are incorporated well.

    4. Fill the buttered popover pans 3/4 of the way.

    5. Bake the popovers for 25 minutes at 400 degress. Reduce heat to 350 degrees and bake for an additional ten minutes.

    6. Serve with melted butter and enjoy!!!
