Chess Cake:
1 (18.5-ounce) package yellow cake mix
1 egg, beaten
1/2 cup margarine melted
1 (16-ounce) package powdered sugar
1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, softened
2 eggs
Combine first 3 ingredients in a mixing bowl; mix well. (This will be very stiff.) Spread into a lightly greased 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan. Mix together remaining ingredients until smooth; pour over cake layer. Bake at 300 degrees for 30 minutes. (Cake will rise in the center during baking, but will fall upon cooling.) Yields: 12 to 15 servings
