POUND CAKE
1 cup butter ( or 1 stick margarine and 1/2 cup all vegetable shortening)
2 cups sugar
6 eggs
2 cups all purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 teaspoon almond or lemon extract
Cream butter and add sugar gradually. Cream until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, and mix well. Add flavoring and then the flour. Do not beat too much after adding flour, just blend well. Bake in a tube pan that has been greased and dusted with flour at 325 degrees for one hour.
