    Pound Cake

    4 sticks butter
    2 1/2 cup sugar
    8 eggs
    2 T. vanilla flavoring
    1 t. lemon flavoring
    4 cups plain flour
    2 t. baking powder
    Dash of salt







    Instructions
    Preheat oven at 325o. Grease and flour large tube or bunt cake pan.

    Beat butter and sugar one minute with mixer blending well with spatula.

    Add eggs, vanilla, lemon and beat 2 1/2 minutes.

    Sift 3 times and blend flour, baking powder and salt.

    Pour into cake pan and bake for 1 hour. Insert toothpick and if it comes out clean cake is done.

    Final Comments
    If bunt cake pan is used, cake will be done a little sooner. Don't over cook or cake will be dry.
