    Oatmeal Cookies

    List of Ingredients

    ¾ cup shortening
    1 ½ cups brown sugar
    2 eggs
    1 tsp cinnamon
    1/4 tsp nutmeg
    1 cup flour
    ¼ tsp baking soda
    ¼ tsp salt
    1 cup oatmeal
    1 tsp vanilla
    nuts or raisins (optional)

    Recipe


    Cream shortening and brown sugar.
    Add eggs, cinnamon, and nutmeg and mix well.
    Add dry ingredients and combine.
    Add nuts or raisins if you want.
    Drop by heaping teaspoonfuls onto cookie sheet.
    Bake at 350º oven for 12 minutes.
    Makes 3 ½ dozen
