    Pecan Pie

    Pastry for a single crust pie
    1 cup white corn syrup
    1 cup plus 3 tablespoons packed dark brown sugar
    1 teaspoon salt
    3 eggs, beaten
    1 tablespoon vanilla extract
    5 ounces (1¼ sticks) margarine, melted
    1 cup shelled pecan halves



    Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

    Fit pie dough into 9-inch pan, fluting the edges.

    In medium bowl, combine corn syrup, brown sugar, salt, eggs and vanilla.

    Whip until mixed well. Slowly add margarine and whip until well blended.

    Pour mixture into prepared crust and top with pecan halves. Bake in preheated oven 45 minutes or until done.

    Cool slightly on wire rack, then refrigerate until ready to serve.

    To serve, reheat in microwave oven 20 to 30 seconds. Makes 6 servings.
