    Baked French Toast

    1 cup brown sugar
    1/2 cup margarine
    2 T. lite corn syrup
    5 eggs
    1 1/2 cups milk
    1 tsp. sugar
    1/2 cup chopped pecans (optional)
    1 loaf of French Bread, sliced
    Preparation -
    Heat brown sugar, margarine and syrup until melted together; Stir. Pour into a 9" x 13" pan. Arrange slices of bread in a ingle layer in pan. Beat eggs; add milk and sugar; pour over the bread slices. Cover with foil or plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight. Uncover and bake at 350º for 30 to 35 minutes. Let stand for 5 minutes before serving. You will not need additional syrup for this French Toast. It's delicious!
