    BACON AND EGG COOKIES
    1 1/4 c. flour
    2/3 c. brown sugar
    1/2 c. Grape-Nuts cereal
    1/2 lb. bacon, cooked crisp and crumbled or 1/2 c. artificial bacon bits
    1/2 c. melted shortening
    1 egg, beaten
    2 tbsp. frozen orange juice concentrate, undiluted
    1 tbsp. grated orange peel


    Mix flour, sugar, Grape-Nuts and bacon. Add remaining ingredients and blend well. Drop by tablespoonfuls onto a sheet (ungreased if using real bacon, greased otherwise) and bake at 350 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes or until cookies are light brown.
