    Oven Baked French Toast

    Oven Baked French Toast

    Long Loaf of French Bread (1/2 lb.)
    8 Large Eggs
    3 Cups Milk
    4 teaspoons Sugar
    3/4 teaspoon Salt
    1 teaspoon Vanilla
    Cinnamon, if desired


    Butter a 9x13" baking dish. Cut bread into 1" slices. Arrange in single layer in pan. Beat eggs. Add rest of the ingredients and mix well. Pour over bread slices. Cover with foil. Chill overnight. When ready to bake, uncover and dot with 2 Tablespoons butter, diced. Bake, uncovered, at 350F for 45-50 minutes.(It will be browned and crispy on the outside, like a souflee on the inside.) Sprinkle with powdered sugar. Serve with warm maple syrup. Advertisement:

    *Don't be scared off by the amount of eggs and milk. This serves at least 8 people.
