    APRICOT-ORANGE JELLO SALAD


    Dissolve:
    2 small pkg. orange jello
    in:
    2 cups boiling water

    Add:
    3/4 cup miniature marshmallows
    Stir until dissolved. When dissolved, add:
    1 cup juice (pineapple and apricot drained from canned fruit... see furthur in recipe)

    Cool and add:
    1 cup canned crushed pineapple, drained
    1 cup canned apricot halves, drained and sliced
    **When draining fruit, be sure to reserve 2 cups TOTAL of the juice

    Pour in 8x12-inch pan. Refrigerate until set. When set, spread on topping.

    TOPPING:
    In saucepan, combine:
    1/2 cup sugar
    3 Tbsp. flour
    1 cup juice (from pineapple and apricot)
    1 egg, well beaten
    2 Tbsp. butter

    Cook, stirring constantly, until thick. Cool, then fold in:
    1 c. cream, whipped

    After spreading on topping, sprinkle with grated American cheese. Chill.
