Sweet-Smelling Dough
1. Mix 1/3 cup warm applesauce, 6 tablespoons cinnamon, 2 tablespoons cloves, and 2 tablespoons nutmeg together to form a ball.
2. Sprinkle some cinnamon onto a cutting board and roll the dough to about 1/4 inch thickness with a rolling pin. Advertisement:
3. Cut out the dough with cookie cutters, and make a hole in the top of each figure to use later for hanging.
4. Lift cutouts with a spatula and place them in a cool area to dry. Turn them often. The drying time is usually about 24 hours.
5. Decorate, adding words and names with tempera or fabric paint.
6. Add a hanger made from yam or a ribbon.
