Goulash
2 Lbs. beef, cubed
2 Large onion, chopped
4 Tablespoons vegetable oil
1/2 Teaspoon marjoram
1 Tablespoon caraway seed
Salt, to taste
2-3 Tablespoons sweet paprika
Water, to cover
Over medium-high heat, saute onions until soft and translucent. Add paprika, stir and let stand for 3-5 minutes.
Brown meat in paprika-onion mixture. Add marjoram and caraway seed.
Cover with water and season with salt. Bring to a boil and reduce heat. Simmer for about an hour or until meat is tender. Serve over rice, buttered egg noodles, spaetzel or dumplings..
