    Korean Beef Strips

    Marinade:
    1/4 cup peanut oil
    1/4 cup soy sauce
    2 tbsp brown sugar
    4 cloves garlic, finely chopped
    1 tbsp grated fresh ginger
    1/4 tsp Cayenne pepper
    3 tbsp sesame seeds

    1 lb beef strips (flank steak)
    4 medium carrots, peeled and cut in 4 inch long sticks

    Korean Beef Strips
    (Makes 4 servings).

    Marinade:

    Mix the marinade ingredients together in a shallow dish. Add the beef strips and combine to coat evenly. Cover and let marinate for at least 1 hour in the refrigerator. Bring a pot of water to the boil. Add the carrot sticks and cook for 1 minute. Drain the carrot sticks, brush with oil and set aside.

    Preheat the barbecue to maximum heat. In the meantime, drain the beef strips and wrap around the carrot sticks. Secure them with a toothpick. Lower the barbecue to medium heat and cook the brochettes about 3 to 5 minutes on each side
