    Dogs: Chicken and Sweet Potato Dog Food

    List of Ingredients
    1 large chicken breast, deboned
    ½ large sweet potato (or yam), cooked until soft
    1 large egg, hard-cooked and shelled
    ½ cup grated carrots, raw
    ½ cup finely chopped romaine lettuce, broccoli, celery or spinach, raw
    1 Tbsp plain yogurt with live, active cultures


    Instructions
    Cook the chicken breast in water or chicken broth until done. Remove the pan from the heat. Remove the chicken from the broth, cut it into bite-sized pieces, and return it to the broth.

    Cut the sweet potato into bite-sized pieces and add it to the chicken and broth. Crumble the hard-cooked egg into the pan with the other ingredients. Add the carrots and greens. Stir gently, just enough to combine the ingredients.

    Empty into your dog's dish and plop the tablespoon of yogurt on top. Add one-good quality vitamin-and-mineral supplement daily.

    Makes 1 meal for a 50- to 60-pound, moderately active dog.
