A Frozen Moose
Recipe Introduction
We needed a quick, cool, summer dessert for some unexpected visitors. After Throwing this recipe together, we did not really know what to call it, but researching a number of cookbooks showed that it was really a mousse.
List of Ingredients
- 2 C. Chopped pineapple, berries, or citrus fruits.
- 2 T. Granulated white sugar.
- 1/2 C. Canned evaporated milk
Instructions
- Combine the milk and fruit in a milkshake can or similar container.
- Use an electric hand-whisk to puree the mixture until it is very smooth.
- Add the sugar in small increments and blending until the desired sweetness is achieved.
- Pour 2/3 cup of the mixture in each of four serving dishes and place in the freezer.
- Chill until thick but not frozen, decorate with a piece of the original fruit, and serve.
- If you wish, two or more fruits with complimenting flavors can be combined.
- If you want to use bananas, do not use more than 1/4 cup of mashed bananas for every two cups of other fruit
