    List of Ingredients




    36 oz milk
    6 Tbsp sugar
    2 Tbsp salt
    1/4 cup molasses
    2 cups warm water
    2 pkgs dry yeast
    3 cups whole wheat flour
    1 heaping Tbsp lard
    3 cups wheat bran if desired

    Recipe



    Scald milk. Cool. Add sugar, salt, and molasses. Stir. Dissolve yeast in warm water. Mix with first mixture when it's lukewarm. Mix in whole wheat flour and let rise a little. Mix in lard, wheat bran - if using, and enough white flour to make a soft bread dough consistency. Let rise in greased bowl till doubled in size. Punch down and form loaves. Put in bread pans and let rise until loaf is good sized. Bake at 350 until brown.
