4 1/2 cups sugar
2 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp salt
3 Tbsp lemon juice
1 cup cornstarch
1 tsp nutmeg
4 cups water
6 lbs. apples - peeled and sliced
Recipe
Peel and slice apples. Place in canning jars. Cover with water with a little salt in to prevent browning of apples. Make sauce by Blending together sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Add water and cook until thick and bubble. Add lemon juice. When sauce is ready, drain the water from apples in the jars, and then pour sauce over the apples. Seal and boil in hot water bath for 20 minutes.
