Lemon Meringue Pie

1 1/2 cups sugar
1 1/2 cups water
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup cornstarch
1/3 cup water
4 eggs separated
1/2 cup lemon juice
3 Tbsp margarine
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 cup sugar

Combine 1 1/2 cup sugar and 1 1/2 cup water with 1/2 tsp salt in pan. Heat to boiling. Mix cornstarch and 1/3 cup water to make smooth paste. Add to boiling mixture stirring constantly. Cool until thick and clear. Beat together egg yolks and lemon juice. Stir into mixture. Combine egg whites and 1/4 tsp salt. Beat until frothy. Add 1/2 cup sugar. Beat until peaks form. Stir 2 rounded Tbsp of meringue into filling. Pour filling into pie shell. Top with rest of meringue. Bake at 325 for 15 minutes.
