    Maple Sausage Apple Braid

    List of Ingredients


    • 1 roll Jimmy Dean Sausage
    • 1/4 c maple syrup
    • 2 eggs
    • 1/2 cup sliced green onions
    • 1 1/2 cup dry seasoned stuffing cubes
    • 2 large apples, peeled and diced
    • 1 package puff pastry sheets
    • 2 egg whites and 1 TBLS water, mixed
    • 4 tsp. sesame seeds


    Instructions


    1. In a bowl, combine the uncooked sausage. syrup, eggs, onions, stuffing and apples; mix well.

    2. Roll out each pastry sheet to a 16 x12 inch rectangle.

    3. Divide sausage mixture between the 2 sheets.

    4. Spread mixture down the center of each sheet.

    5. Brush edges of pastry with egg white and water mixture.

    6. Fold 1 inch of pastry at the top and bottom to enclose ends of filling.

    7. Make 3 inch long cuts in the pastry at 1 inch intervals on both sides of filling.

    8. Fold strips over filling, alternating sides for braid effect.

    9. Brush top with egg white mixture.

    10. Sprinkle sesame seeds on top.

    11. Place on greased baking sheets.

    12. Bake at 400 degrees for 30 minutes or until golden brown. Serve warm.
