    List of Ingredients


    • 3/4 cup butter, softened
    • 1 1/2 cups brown sugar, divided
    • 1/2 cup sugar
    • 3 eggs, separated
    • 1 tsp vanilla
    • 2 cups flour
    • 1 tsp baking powder
    • 1/4 tsp baking soda
    • 1/4 tsp salt
    • 2 cups chocolate chips
    • 1 cup coconut
    • 3/4 cup chopped walnuts


    Instructions


    1. In a large bowl, cream the butter, 1/2 cup brown sugar and sugar.
    2. Add egg yolks and vanilla, beating for 2 minutes.
    3. Combine flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
    4. Add to creamed mixture and mix well. Batter will be stiff.
    5. Spread into a greased 13x9 pan.
    6. Sprinkle chocolate chips, coconut and walnuts over the top.
    7. Beat egg whites until soft peaks form.
    8. Beat in remaining brown sugar, 1 TBLS at a time and beat until stiff peaks form.
    9. Spread over the top.
    10. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes or until done.
    11. Cool on a wire rack.
    12. Cut into bars and store in fridge.
