    1/2 c butter
    2 c sugar
    1/2 t vanilla
    2 eggs
    2 c flour
    1 1/2 t cinnamon
    1 t nutmeg
    1/2 t salt
    1/2 t baking soda
    6 c chopped, peeled tart apples
    1/2 c brown sugar
    1/4 c butter, cubed
    1/2c heavy whipping cream

    Recipe



    1. In a large bowl, cream the butter, sugar and vanilla.
    2. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
    3. Combine the flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt and baking soda.
    4. Gradually add to creamed mixture and mix well (batter will be thick).
    5. Stir in apples until well combined.
    6. Spread into a greased 9x13 pan.
    7. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 to 45 min or until top is lightly browned and springs back when lightly touched.
    8. Cool at least 30 min before serving.
    9. In a saucepan, combine the brown sugar and butter.
    10. Cook over med high heat until butter is melted.
    11. Gradually add cream.
    12. Bring to a slow boil over med heat, stirring constantly.
    13. Remove from heat. Serve with the cake.
