Recipe Introduction
Although, I usually use the store bought refrigerated pie crusts to save time; this is one of the best homemade pie crust recipies that my family ever tried. It can be stored in the refrigerator or even in the freezer for quite a long time.
List of Ingredients
- 6 cups flour
- 1 pound lard
- 1 Tablespoon salt
Instructions
- Add the salt to the flour.
- Cut the lard into the flour until fine and crumbly.
- When ready to use, mix with water in the following proportions.
- For 1 crust 8 inch pie- Use 1 1/4 cup mix and 1-1 1/2 Tablespoons water.
- For 2 crust 8 inch pie- use 2 cups of mix and 2-3 Tablespoons water.
- For 1 crust 9 inch pie- Use 1 1/2 cup mix and 1 1/2 - 2 Tablespoons water.
- For 2 crust 9 inch pie- Use 2 1/2 cup mix and 3-4 Tablespoons water.
